The Weird Ticket

TWT leans into the off kilter, the off the wall, the offbeat, the outlandish, unconventional, unanticipated & idiosyncratic because in a world thats always trying to be “normal” its just so damn refreshing!

TWT understands art has deep roots in culture and loves that “hairs standing up on the back of the neck” feeling when making or witnessing something that means something

TWT recognises the preciousness of common humanity and aspires to be part of things that gets people crying and laughing together.

TWT knows that in the end its perseverance that makes it happen and we are going to push that dream all the way up the hill, off the cliff and watch it fly!

About Weird Ticket

The Weird Ticket is a creative initiative with a particular interest in modern clown and movement. TWT is based in Boorloo (Perth) Western Australia and its activities include making performance, teaching workshops and producing workshops with visiting artists. TWT is managed by Hardey McMurrick who has worked intensively in physical theatre, street performance, circus and hospital clowning for over 25 years. Workshop – Clown & the Physical Impulse

Clowning is intrinsically linked an actors awareness of their physicality

A clowns wealth of expression manifests in their ability to hold the line in being physically connected to themselves and the audience in what could be described as a dynamic movement meditation. In order to deliver to the audience “what they didn’t expect to expect” and to truly surprise ourselves requires playful deep listening and a mischievous intuition. In this workshop participants will explore movement practices coupled with clown concepts and exercises in order to experience an awareness that allows the actor to step into moments as they present themselves with that subversive clowns eye view.
